Joe McGinn

Producer, Google Singapore

Joe McGinn joined Google Singapore as a Producer to support VR and AR developers in the region. Prior to joining Google, he was lead game designer at Radical Entertainment, Activision-Blizzard, the Walt Disney Corporation, and Ubisoft. He led the design of Radical's breakout hit The Simpsons: Hit & Run, listed on Metacritic as the highest-rated Simpsons game of all time. His 2007 game Crash of the Titans was nominated for "Best Children's Video Game" by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Joe also spent three years as Department Chair of Game Design & Production at DigiPen Singapore, where he created their first VR lab and VR game design courses.

What's New in AR & VR

Day 2 - 13:30 - 14:30

Attendees will learn about the latest features in Google's AR and VR platforms. ARCore features to be highlighted include augmented images, vertical planes, and shared multiplayer experiences. Attendees will also learn about the latest developments in VR such as the standalone Mirage Solo headset with inside-out Worldsense 6DOF tracking and Suerat surface-light-field rendering technology.
